Description
This 19th century US Presidential History print features oval portraits of two Republican candidates, namely Abraham Lincoln for the post of President and Hannibal Hamlin for the post of Vice President. The top of the campaign banner features the motto ‘Free Speech, Free Homes, Free Territory’ and ‘The Union must and shall be preserved’, along with an eagle with its wings spread out occupying the top-center. In the lower portion, there is a shield proclaiming ‘Protection to the American Industry’, flanked by a wood-cutter and an ironsmith, and several elements like smokestacks, sails of ships and two cornucopia.
