This mid 20th century US Military History photo features the B-24 Liberator unloading leftover fuel after having flown ‘The Hump’ into Kunming, China. ‘The Hump’ was a nickname used by the Allied soldiers to refer to the eastern flank of the Himalayan Mountain Range over which supplies were flown from India to China in a military transport aircraft.
