Description
This mid 19th century US Military History print features the Battle of Buena Vista, a battle in the Mexican-American War, which is also known as the Battle of La Angostura, particularly in Mexico, and as the Battle of Buena Vista/La Angostura. It marked the turning point in the war because Santa Anna decided to attack General Taylor, but did not reinforce Vera Cruz, thus making it possible for General Scott to land his men in Mexico and lay siege to the city.
