Description
This mid 20th century Military History photo features a consolidated B-24 Liberator of the 15th AF as it releases bombs on the railyards at Muhldorf, Germany, during the Second World War. Bombers of the 15th AF sliced vital rail lines from Vienna to Munich as the air offensive against the enemy reached an all time high. The aircraft was assigned to the 451st Bombardment Group, 15th Air Force, and could be distinguished by the red upper tailfin over a red circle. Photo taken on March 19, 1945.
