Description
This mid 19th century US Political History features Edward Everett, an accomplished keynote speaker, US congressman, US senator, governor of Massachusetts, US secretary of state, and Harvard president who delivered a two-hour speech in Gettysburg about the significance of the Battle of Gettysburg. His speech was followed by a short keynote address by Abraham Lincoln, after which he remarked "I should be glad, if I could flatter myself that I came as near to the central idea of the occasion, in two hours, as you did in two minutes."
