This mid 20th century US Presidential History photo features Eleanor Roosevelt, US First Lady, in conversation with a woman machinist during her goodwill tour to Great Britain in November, 1942. When Britain went to war, women were called upon to work in the factories to create weapons and ensure continuity of production that helped the soldiers and the nation, in addition to their responsibility of managing the home.
