This mid 19th century US Military History photo features Major General Robert Anderson standing in uniform with a telescope in his hand. As a US Army Officer who served as a Union Commander during the American Civil War, he is most well-known for moving his command of 85 soldiers to Fort Sumter wherein they were bombarded upon by the Confederate Army and forced to surrender.
