This 19th century US MIlitary History print features General William Tecumseh Shermanon on horseback in Atlanta, Georgia, where after more than three months of hard fighting he had pushed John Bell Hood to abandon the Confederacy’s munitions center. Subsequently Sherman and his troops stayed at this location for almost three months to recuperate from the exhaustion of long months of incessant fighting.
