This early 20th century US Photographic History print by Frank Hamilton Nowell features an Eskimo couple Happy Jack, and his wife Assongoyi at Nome, Alaska, with both wearing traditional fur parkas with fur-trimmed hoods. During the Nome gold rush that took place in the early years of the 20th century, Frank H. Nowell, a Seattle photographer, spent several years in Alaska where he took many photographs of the Nome region and its native inhabitants.
