Description
This late 19th century French Architectural History print features ‘Le Monastère de St. Honorat’, which translates into Fortified Monastery, which is located on the southern coast of the island of Saint Honorat, which lies a mile offshore beyond the French Riviera city of Cannes. As part of the Lerins Abbey, the structure is a Cistercian Monastery and was constructed sometime between the 11th and 14th centuries with the objective of serving as a defense outpost against invaders.
