Description
This early 20th century Railroad History photo features a Missouri-Kansas-Texas train, under several feet of water owing to the flood in 1904, while passengers stand on top of the train. Popularly referred to as “Katy,” the railroad was created in 1865 and was first called the Union Pacific Railway, Southern Branch, although it was totally unrelated to the Union Pacific Railroad.
