This early 20th century US Aviation History photo features Norman Prince, founder of the Lafayette Escadrille, a group of American pilots who were part of the French Air Force during the First World War.. He was the 55th American to be licensed to fly an airplane by the Aero Club of America and passed his test on August 28, 1911 at Squantum, Massachusetts.
