Description
This late 19th century US Natural History print features Old Faithful, a cone geyser located in the Yellowstone National Park, in Wyoming which was christened in 1870 and was the first in the park to have received a name. The geyser was so named because members of the Washburn-Langford-Doane Expedition who discovered it realized that it erupted at regular intervals, which lasted from 44 minutes to 2 hours.
