Description
This late 19th century Texas History print features San Antonio, one of the main cities in the State of Texas, which was founded as a Spanish mission and colonial outpost in 1718, and became the first chartered civil settlement in Texas in 1731. Subsequent to the American Civil War, San Antonio emerged as one of the major hubs for the cattle industry, and during the Reconstruction Era, it was the first Texan city to have a railroad that connected it to the port cities.
