Description
This early 20th century US Military History photo features a man standing in a First World War cemetery in France, probably the Meuse-Argonne American Cemetery, wherein the largest number of American Military personnel who lost their lives in Europe are buried. The cemetery was established on October 14, 1918, and its location in Meuse is indicative of the fact that it was during the Meuse-Argonne offensive that most of the American soldiers had lost their lives.
