This mid 20th century US Military History photo features three Tuskegee airmen looking skyward, in Ramitelli, Italy, in March 1945. Being the the first black military aviators in the US Army Air Corps (AAC) they were trained at the Tuskegee Army Air Field in Alabama, and during the Second World War they flew more than 15,000 individual sorties in Europe and North Africa.
