Description
This mid 20th century US Military History photo features Tuskegee airman Edward C. Gleed, Lawrence, KS, Class 42-K, with two unidentified crewmen adjusting an external seventy-five gallon drop tank on the wing of a P-5/D "Creamer's Dream" at Ramitelli, Italy, during World War II. Owing to the Tuskegee airmen being segregated from other service personnel even during combat, the 332nd Fighter Group flew out of Ramitelli Airfield in Campomarino.
