This mid 20th century US History photo features members of the Bonus Expeditionary Forces, many carrying American flags, marching across the east plaza of the US Capitol. In a gathering of probably 10,000 to 25,000 World War I veterans, along with their wives and children, converged on Washington DC in 1932, demanding immediate bonus payment for wartime services to alleviate the economic hardship of the Great Depression. Photo taken on April 8, 1932.
