Description
This late 19th century American History print features an illustration of the Native Indian Chief ‘Sitting Bull’ in Die Gartenlaube, the first German newspaper that was printed for mass circulation by its founder Ernst Keil in Leipzig, Kingdom of Saxony. At the time of publication, Sitting Bull, a Hunkpapa Lakota leader, was a popular figure owing to having led his tribe to resist the policies of the US Government.
