Description
This early 20th century European Military History print features a British biplane, having burst into flames, plunging to the ground, as part of air warfare between Britain and Germany during the First World War, with the caption ‘Deutsche Luftkriegsbeute Ausstellung’. The english translation is roughly, ‘Exhibition of German plunder from aerial warfare’. While aerial warfare had been long employed, World War I was the first conflict where airplanes were involved in large numbers and played an instrumental role.
