This early 20th century US Military History artwork by Percy Moran features George Washington examining the colors of the captured flag following the Battle of Trenton on December 26, 1776, during the American Revolutionary War. In the Battle of Trenton, George Washington led the Continental Army consisting of 2400 soldiers across the Delaware River to counter the 1400 soldiers of the Hessian Army led by Colonel Johann Rall.
