Description
This mid 20th century US Military History print features the Consolidated B-24, an American heavy bomber, with one of it’s engines on fire as it emerges from the German flak area. Derived from the German word ‘Flugabwhehrgeschutz” meaning flag, flak was a term used during the Second World War to refer to a region where anti aircraft guns were placed to fire at the enemy aircraft.
